First off, lots of good info on this forum. Got a specific question.
I currently have a dell 24 in lcd and a westinghouse 24 inch lcd . I plan on buying a 2nd westinghouse and place the dell in the middle along with a matrox 3head digital.
I keep seeing posts saying the ideal setup is for 3 19's due to the native resolution of the display.
Does anyone have or know about the setup I plan on getting. Currently, im playing bioshock on a display stretched across 2 24's. looks great, but im going cross eyed from the bezels in the center of the screen.
Thanks again. great site.

Because of the max horizontal and vertical resolutions I am pretty sure you will be limited to scaling your 24" displays down to 1280x800 in order to use triple head 2 go

Hello ... welcome to the forum ...
The new TripleHead2Go Digital Edition has one 16:10 widescreen solution ...
3840x800 (triple 1280x800) 60Hz ... 3 x 16:10
So using this you will not have a distorted image ... assuming your monitors can do 1280x800. (I think they can)
Any other non 16:10 res will give you a distorted image.
I have 3 20" Dell's with a native res of 1600x1200 but I run them at 3 x 1280x1024 ... they look fine at that res.
So all in all ... run your current monitors at 1280x800 ... see what the image is like ... if your happy ... go do what you are planning ... :D
Any other TripleHead resolution would give you a distorted images on your screens.

Thanks guys for the info so far.
So I test the res on the 2 monitors....the dell wont do the 1280x800, will do 1280 by 1024, the westy will do 1280 x 800 and 1280x1024.
So what is the best guess if I run all 3 monitors @ 1280x1024?
A little more info on my sys....2 nvidia 8800 gtx in sli.
thanks.

3 x 1280 x1024 will look distorted ... did you not notice ?
Triple 24 inch monitors
hard to tell.
checked, reset both displays thru nvidia control panel. They dont look distorted @ 1280 x 1024, however, the westy's refresh changes to 75hz.
At 1280x800 the westy's refresh resets to 60
 and looks distorted....i am confused.

1280x1024 is 4:3 ... it has to look distorted on a 16:10 screen ...

Yea that is a pretty big resolution change
Sorry paddy but I have to point this out
1280x1024 is 5:4 ;)
1600x1200 is 4:3
1280/1024=1.25 or 5/4 not 4/3 aka 1.3333
So your image is distorted too ;)

Thanks to everyone for the great responses.
I'm gonna pull the trigger and get the 2nd westy...it just dropped another 50 bucks over the weekend...399, after rebate for a 1920x1200 lcd monitor. i'll deal with the distortion...gotta get rid of that center bezel!!! :D

The dell might just need the res. added using the nvidia resolutions part so you can do 1280x800 x3.
You could do 1280x1024 x3 with scaling to put it in 4:3 but that'd make a lot of black bars.
It's a shame there's a hardware limit that prevents the TH2G / TH2Gd to support 3x 1920x1080 or 3x 1920x1200.
I mean, couldn't they pull off using a dual-head card to feed it via 2 dual-link dvi connectors (like most recent cards have, especially those that could drive such a setup (8800/2900)). Heck those cards already support 'sharing' the 2 outputs as 1 big one.

3x 1920x1080 or 3x 1920x1200 or even more is doable in SofTH now!
So perhaps one day Matrox might implement it in their TH2GO blackbox line as well..
These resolutions are not against the "laws of nature" as some freaks in Rapture used to say..

Well with triple head to go digital edition you can use it like dual head with two 24" screens but not 3 at native res...
Even like 1440 or 1680 would be nice

Softth has been a big fail for me. Can't get anything running with it. The most I got was nwn2 that ran once, and even then the mouse was locked on the center screen, every other time I tried, I got a black screen or some corrupted gfx.

I was trying not to confuse him anymore than he already seemed ...
May be that wasn't the best thing to say ... I should have just said ...
1280x1024 is not 16:10 so has to look distorted on a 16:10 screen.

It's a shame there's a hardware limit that prevents the TH2G / TH2Gd to support 3x 1920x1080 or 3x 1920x1200.Yep. The 4096-pixel limit made sense before when there weren't any GPUs that could overcome the same limit, but with DX10 GPUs able to easily push past that, it would be nice to see an available mode or two to make it possible.
Out of curiosity, what is the resolution limit of one dual-link DVI connection?
Triple 24 inch monitors
That 2560x1600 res. from those 30" is the max I think.

TH2Go digital resolution of 3840x1200 @60Hz exceeds the measly 2560x1600 resolution.. by 512k pixels.. more than half a million pixels..
getting dual DH2Go/TH2Go digital you can potentially span FOUR 1920x1200 monitors at full pixel resolutions for 3840x2400 or 9.21 MPixels of resolution... same resolution as the dense fabled IBM T221.... or a very long display or 7680x1200 with direct-x 10 games
2x8800gtx should be able to handle 9.21MPixels in most games at minimal/medium settings... I tested one 8800gtx with 8Mpixels...quad 1080p...

Yeah, 4 monitors with a large black cross right smack between em, sorry, until projectors lose the short bulb life span, TH2G are just not worth the investment for me.

Well,
Got the 3rd 24 in monitor and the th2g digital. I can live with the stretch. I just could'nt go back to playing the carterham expansion and flight simx on the single screen.
However THREE 24inch panels giving off heat and the 2 8800 gtx's working at double the resolution caused a bit of a heat problem in my 8x14 game room.
One thing I noticed that after shutting down the pc, you have to completely disconnect it from power, otherwise , upon reboot the matrox box usually does not send a signal. And thanks again...got that heads up on the work around from this forum :D
Simbin games look great on 3 screens...gt legends, caterham, gtr2, just one thing due to the stretch issue, as a car is passed , and it's exiting the screen it appears to be bout 30 ft long
