Wow. Probably the most ambitious game ever created - Spore!

You have to watch the entire 35 minute video to truly appreciate the scope of this game. IT has the potential to really be one of the most amazing games ever created.

You could play for years and end up with thousands of planets, billions of creatures in hundreds of galaxies all under your control, from every cell to every galaxy!!!

Pretty incredble, and slated for release in Fall 2006.

The funny thing is, every 5 or so minutes he zooms out to another level and you get sold all over again...he does that for 35 striaght minutes lol...

I saw this game right after it was shown. Its really unique and I look forward to playing it. Definitely one of the most anticipated games for me this year (along with Quake Wars). Its a shame it cant be multiplayer though, that would be interesting. 8)

All with their own population and looks. :o
I think this game has just pushed every other game in my most wanted list aside to conquer first place. :P

I knew you'd like it :D

The fact that it has all those procedurally generated animations and creatures is a huge leap in gaming alone. If they simply made a game where you could do that people would freak, but add that to the entire galaxy thing and this could potentially be one of those games that people play, and continually make creative things for years.

yeah, it's really "evolutionary".
This may indeed be one of the biggest games since a lot of years.
It's first of it's kind.

If you watch the full version and listen to his speeches he says how the file of one user (created worlds, towns, creatures) is a few kilobytes at best. So they can host everyones and it could all be uploaded to your computer. That is a huge ammount of custom content added to your game :shock:

I imagine if it would also be possible to recreate our own evolution.
To create human like characters or do they intentially prevent you from doing that.

This game will be fun for a few weeks, just like all the Sim City games were. But I doubt it'll keep me hooked like CS:S, World of Warcraft, or Quake. :p

I'm sure, considering how different everything was even though it was all created through the same character creation method, you can make just about anything.

Very cool and creative. But the massive scope has potential for bugs,bugs,bugs, and give me a rocket-launcher and a horde of bad men to blow up anyday. :D
