Hitman Blood Money in 1680x1050

I'm new here and I have a problem. Hitman runs in all resolutions except for 1680x1050 which is my monitor's naive resolution. When I try load a level (after weapon selection) it just black screens and returns to desktop with the process dead. Have already tried reinstalling, patching, starting a new profile, trying different windows users etc.
