it doesn't work for me as well.
I added 1280x800 and the resolution is not selectable through the game from the setting screen.

I play this game a lot and wish to get the best settings. I have 1280 X 800 in my options , but when i select them to play in game settings PES5 it reverts to a very low resolution !!

The best i can get is 1280 x 768 !

Anyone have any ideas why it won't stick with 1280 x 800 ?

Bit weird but my guess is that it only supports 16:9 resolutions (which 1280x768 is).
1280x800 is a 16:10 res.

1280 X 800 IS 16:10 Ratio and is what i want. I can't understand why i can choose it in game options but it won't support it.

On this site it says the highest res for widescreen is 1280 X 800.

What kinda system do you have? Screen, pc and what cables.

I'm using a XFX 6800GS GC, DVI-D cable and my monitor is a 19" WS Samsung 940BW.

I'm using 84.21 Forceware drivers.

In all honesty, i dont think that its worth the hassle mate. I too am a great fan of PES5 and wanted it to be in WS, but even though i was able to select it in the configuration app, when you actually play a game itself, it appears to be a standard screen stretched ie. Not correct aspect ratio.

So until they release the next one then...
