Hey folks, I can't find this mentioned anywhere else but please forgive me if i've missed it somewhere.

I have tried the solution listed here:

http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/

but it seems to only work if I run the games in 1920x1200. Any other resolution than that I end up with it running non-fullscreen, despite editing the fullscreen entry in the cfg files.

Any help appreciated :)

It sounds to me like you're trying to run the game at a resolution that your system isn't configured to use. I assume that your monitor runs natively at 1920x1200. What resolution are you trying to run the games at, and can you set your desktop to that resolution?

Welcome to WSGF!!

Here is a list of WS resolutions to help choose one that works for you

Link

and as cranky said your monitor must be able to support it.

Your monitor is properly installed isn't it?? & with the latest drivers for it??

As far as I am aware, there is no problem with my monitor. Other games run fine. I used that WSGF guide to test all of the 16:10 resolutions, but it seems besides 1920x1200 they don't work for this hack.

There are a couple of different posts concerning the Quake & Doom hacks - there is some contradiction/confusion in them.

What did you set your FOV to - if you did so?

One post indicates it does it auto the other says to do it manually.

What did you do?

Solution 1)
Add "g_fov" and set it as you want (111/115)

Solution 2)
" seta r_customHeight "1050"
seta r_customWidth "1680"
seta r_mode "-1"
seta r_aspectRatio "2"

If the config keeps changing back then you must run the ...
"Scan Hardware and Select Optimal Video Quality" in the games display setup and exit the game ...
go back into the game and play a bit ... exit ...
THEN do the changes to the config.
There's no need for the FOV change as the ... seta r_aspectRatio "2" sorts out the correct view for you and the config file deletes the FOV entries anyway."

Actually there are 3 ??

Solution 3)
" To get fov to stay you need to change the "target" link in the Doom3 desktop icon properties to "C:Program FilesDoom 3DOOM3.exe" seta g_fov "110" "
