Re: El Matador a better FOV?
Hello. I checked the game files and I found two configuration files in txt. One is in the game folder where is the exe file and the name of this file is 'core''.
I opened this file in notepad++ and I found three lines that should be responsible for the FOV in the game.
First line, I don't know for what is responsible in the game.
1 "PSM fov" 90.000000 -1000000000.000000 1000000000.000000
Second and third are seem to be responsible for FOV in the game are:
1 "fovx" 90.000000 10.000000 170.000000
1 "fovy" 67.500000 10.000000 170.000000
The second configuration file is located in the folder ''PROFILES'' - ''NAMEUSER-COMPUTER'' also in the game folder. The name of this file is the same ''core'' and has two lines with FOV.
1 "fovx" 90.000000 10.000000 170.000000
1 "fovy" 67.500000 10.000000 170.000000
I tried to change the first numbers of these parameters but there were no effects in the game. For example:
1 "fovx" 110.000000 10.000000 170.000000
1 "fovy" 110.500000 10.000000 170.000000
There is also another problem. In the game menu that runs before the game the resolutions are limited. The highest for 16:9 is 1920x1080 and for 16:10 it is 1920x1200.
I have a 4K monitor, so for me they are already quite low resolutions. It would be great to unlock a higher like 2560x1440, 2560x1600 and 3840x2160.
Can someone see it is there a chance to do something about it? Maybe I should enter other numbers in these FOV lines? They are quite long. Usually in configuration files they are shorter, like fov = 90.

Re: El Matador a better FOV?
Hey. I'm still fighting with these settings but I'm starting to give up.
The ''core'' ini files have also options for resolutions.
The resolutions options in ''core'' ini looks like this
"xres" 1024 32 4096
"yres" 768 32 4096
Changing them to for example:
"xres" 2560 32 4096
"yres" 1440 32 4096
Causes the game to run in 1024x768
I think without a good hack it's impossible to change FOV and unlock more resolutions in this game.
As for me, the game is a pretty good third person shooter and deserves for better support on modern monitors.

Re: El Matador a better FOV?
Hey. I found in hex editor in ''pc_matador.exe'' some values which may be responsible for the FOV and 3rd person camera. Is the change of these values can change these parameters in the game? I took a screenshots.
First may be responsible for the FOV

Re: El Matador a better FOV?
Hey guys. I've found on Youtube gameplay with a modified FOV but it looks like it works only with Spanish or Portuguese version. I've merge his shared data.dat file with mine but nothing has changed. I think his version has one big data.dat and my version has data.dat from one to five and maybe that's why it did not work.
I wrote him a post under the movie. Maybe if it's active on Youtube then maybe it will share his work here.

By the way. He was able to change FOV in Infernal from 2007. This game is also in Vert- in widescreen. But his FOV is a little crazy.
