Seems like the latest patch ruined this?

Hex value from 39 8E E3 3F too 8E E3 18 40 didn't seem too change anything on 3440x1440. Steam version.

Does anyone know the updated Hex values for Steam version 1.1.3? The previous ones "39 8E E3 3F3" (i.e 16:9 in hex) can no longer be found with search and I don't know where to go from here to restore the fix.

Nevermind, I found the solution. A post on Reddit had the answer.

1. Open Program HxD > Click File and Open ACOdyssey.exe
2. Ctrl+F > Click "Hex Values" > Click Search Direction "All" > Write 39 8E E3 3F
3. change EVERY Instance and Replace Value With Hex Your Aspect Ratio Resolution, Here is the list.

2560x1080 = 26 B4 17 40
3440x1440 = 8E E3 18 40
3840x1080 = 39 8E 63 40

I'm using HxD Hex Editor, and the first couple times I tried I forgot to set the search to Hex values and not Text strings. After that, I was able to find "39 8E E3 3F", which I then replaced with "8E E3 18 40" using the built in Replace function in the program.

This is after the most recent Steam update. I updated my game and had black bars. I checked the .exe and it had changed back so I used program to replace values again and went back into the game and 'lo and behold, the black bars were gone.

So to anyone saying that it's not working, make sure you're actually searching for Hex values and not Text strings, and have fun romancing in full 21:9!

Can confirm this works. done it on the last two updates and fixes the issue.

I found using 'Replace all' made it easier, there are about 8 instances of 39 8E E3 3F you have to replace

Hi Bumpers; first of all thanks for your help. But unfortunately neither this last one nor the previous ones do not work with AC Odyssey Ultimate edition. I've got Ubi version meanwhile. Am i doing something wrong (though nothing can be done wrong basicly i am just copy/pasting the exe files) or is there a problem with the ultimate version?

I wonder if anyone knows a way to make the cutscenes 32:9, while still retaining the option to keep the UI in the middle of the screen, as that functionality seems to completely break with these Hex edits (understandably).

3x Acer XF270H Monitors in 3x1 Landscape Eyefinity configuration

Resolution is 5904x1080

The game runs flawlessly with one exception. I cannot see any dialogue options or the menu during cutscenes. I have tried the HxD edits to the .exe file that are listed in this thread and none of them have solved this, presumably because none of them are for my resolution. I have also tried numerous lower resolutions with the same result. If i set screen display area to centered, the hud does move to the center display during normal gameplay, but the game crashes to desktop when trying to start a cutscene.

I haven't had that issue at all. I'm running at 6040x1080, with the HUD centered, and haven't had a single crash - the cutscenes play at 1920x1080, which I'm fine with. I'm running NV Surround, so maybe that's the difference? Is yours still crashing on cutscenes with the HUD centered?

My issue is that when using triple monitors, I have constant black bars on the left and right side - the game doesn't fill all three monitors no matter what resolution I select. Here's an example screenshot:

I previously commented that patch 1.1.4 fixed the cutscene issue. This is INCORRECT. I have posted the fixed exes on another page.

On Uplay patch 1.1.4 has seemed to fix the black bar cutscene issue with no hex edit required. I even tried to search in the new .exe for the hex values to change and they are gone. Even the hex values that would change it previously are not there either. So, as of now, at least on Uplay, the lastest patch has fixed the issue. I can't speak for other resolutions nor do I know if the steam version is fixed either. Other users will have to report their findings. I will try and update the post as I see other comments.

Weird. I was able to do the usual hex edit on the steam version. (12 changes total)
3440x1440: "39 8E E3 3F" to "8E E3 18 40"

I have to apologize to everyone. It seems my last post was in haste. I forget that Ubisoft doesn't release the PC patch till a day or two after they "release" it. I have corrected my last post to reflect this. I am only human, please forgive me.
