problems witth syncmaster225bw. help

Iv recently bought this monitor, and the backlight bleed is stupidly high. What i want to know is, with dvd s or video clips in general, how do expand the image to fit all the screen, which should reduce some of the glare? Iv got a geforce 7600gs if that helps.. thanks
