Refresh rate stuck at 60hz.

Post by kristjankalev »

I have 2 AOC AG271QX monitors and 1 Qnix QX2710 monitor. They can all do 2560x1440 separately at 100hz (Qnix overclocked). However, nVidia Surround only lets 60hz@7680x1440. I would wish for 100hz@7680x1440.

Troubleshooting: I have tried installing custom edited monitor drivers with the 100hz resolution via MonInfo and CRU.
The closest I've come to the solution is that via CRU, I added to the Qnix monitor 100hz@2560x1440 resolution (+ / +), clicked "restart64" restarting the monitor drivers and then I had the option to 100hz in nVidia Surround. After applying, however, it blinks to black and when it comes back, it is still at 60hz automatically and the 100hz option is gone once again.

G..gle tells me the AOCs use FreeSync, whereas the Qnix simply drops frames to achieve higher refresh rates: Anandtech | TFTCentral
So it seems getting these monitors to work together at 100 Hz would be a gamble at best...

What connections are you using? I'm pretty sure DVI has a 60hz limit from what I've seen on my system, so any surround group containing either a DVI monitor or a HDMI v1.x connection probably prevents greater than 60fps. I think you'll need Display Port and/or HDMI 2.0 to all monitors.
