ZSNES widescreen solution?

Post by UndaC »

Does anyone know how to force ZSNES (Super Nintendo emulator) into widescreen mode?
According to the author it can be done by modifying the source files (which are available freely) but I do not know any programming at all.

Any ideas would be appriciated (and I know other emulators support widescreen resolutions, I just happen to think ZSNES is the best by far of all the SNES emus)

Do any SNES games support widescreen themselves? What would be the benefit of going wide? I can't program a lick (outside of HTML). If Wogg was still around.

SNES games don't support wide-screen, so what's the point?

I don't know if you could actually insert some pan& scan stuff in zsnes source. Actually, the SNES is one of the few consoles whose games have an odd 1:14 aspect ratio.

However, it is possible to run Nintendo 64 games in widescreen (16:9 and 16:10). You just have to use Jabo's D3D 1.8 and enable "adjust game aspect ratio to match yours".

Now playing Zelda 64 or Conker's bad fur bay in widescreen is great (specially at 1680x1050!)

Do you have a link for this plugin, I can't seem to find it.

It's included with the latest project64 (1.6) (it can't be downloaded separately).
