PLP Software Configuration

Post by Bense »

Hi, I've been running a PLP setup for the past 7 years. I am now on my second setup. Here are the specs of this setup.

GPU = R9 290, with the following monitors plugged into the ports on my card.
Dell 1707FP (17", 1280x1024) - DVI plug
Dell U2412M (24, 1920x1200) - DisplayPort
Dell 1707FP (17", 1280x1024) - HDMI port (I'm using a HDMI -> DVI cable)

My question for you guys is if it's possible for me to run an eyefinity PLP configuration using my GPU. The last time I researched this (~2 years ago), my GPU didn't support this configuration, however the R9 285 did?

The Radeon card management software that comes with the drivers is a bit different (at least in appearance) than it was a year or so ago. Have there been any recent driver updates that allow this configuration to work? -- I'm still dreaming of the day that I can play L4D2 (a much older game) in PLP.

Any insight/tips/input would be greatly appreciated.

Its a hardware limit.
The 285 is newer than the 290 and therefore supports PLP.
Nothing drivers can change :(
We gonna send it to outa space!
