Starting bezel compensation undoes PLP (solved it)

Post by Abram »

Put together a new machine, motherboard is dead. Put the old one back together and configured my PLP Eyefinity setup without a problem - same as always, but when i start Bezel Compensation, my sides get flipped back to landscape. Using the same connections and hardware as before, as well as drivers version (16.3.1). I tried with a new EF group a few times, as well as creating, restarting, and trying again. No change. Anyone else run into this?

Fury X GPU
32" on DP in landscape
2x 24" DVI-Active DP in portrait.

Now that I've typed that out, perhaps the order that the cables are arranged is the problem. I didn't consider making note of what cables where in which outputs on the GPU before taking it all apart... But I'll have to look at that later.

Fingered it out. Uninstalled all drivers and remnants, installed 15.12, set up screens, installed 16.3.2 over top. All is well. But I'm guessing trying to set it up again will break PLP once more.

Motherboard had a dead USB 3.0 and PCI-E x1 slot. Had to go through the same stupid process again. with a different replacement board and OS install. Arg.

Update: Problem persists with Crimson 16.5.2.1 Hotfix. grrrr.

i manage to contact amd support

I see that with 17.6.2 drivers, when you click on Adjust bezel, the portrait monitors turns to landscape but you are not having this issue with 15.11.1 Beta drivers.

I will require some time so that I can discuss this internally with my next level support and will respond back to you with an update. I request your support and patience in this regard.

Thank you for contacting AMD.

let's hope!
