Which video card?

Hi all,

I am set on buying a freesync widescreen monitor because I need multiple inputs and the gsync ones just don't have enough. The obvious card for that is the AMD fury X, but I still hesitate for a 980ti because it has more RAM. I feel the Fury X 4GB will be obsolete in 2 years (as per Anandtech's review).

Is the variable refresh rate such a big deal? Wouldn't the 980ti's a bit faster rendering in many cases make up for the loss of that? (See https://youtu.be/Tm58-ck98Ss)

Well, variable refresh rate is supposed to be the best new addition to displays since... well... ever. All the benefits of v-sync on with the benefits of v-sync off. It's amazing.

G-sync seems better over all as all framerates up to the maximum are supported, although as long as you stay in the "variable refresh rate window" on freesync displays, you get the same experience.

Have you considered using more than one display? I know if depends on your work space, but I personally keep a u3011 for consoles (as well as videos) at my desk over top of my 3 x Dell 3007wfp-hc's.
