Turok 2 widescreen choices and white border
Hey guys.
So I use the European version of Turok 2. Which instead of the Turok2.exe comes with the Turok2English.exe. I patched it using this patch so it would properly read music from my CD
http://dk.toastednet.org/FPS_Legends/turok2.html
So i was planning on using the strech version and editing the resolution 1280x1024. But according to the main page for turok 2 you need to edit in this particular string of text
40 01 00 00 C7 05 94 FD 01 10 F0 00 00 00 39 1D C0 B2 01 10 75 14 C7 05 84 FD 01 10 00 02 00 00 C7 05 94 FD 01 10 80 01 00 00 39 1D 04 B3 01 10 75 14 C7 05 84 FD 01 10 80 02 00 00 C7 05 94 FD 01 10 E0 01 00 00 39 1D 48 B3 01 10 75 14 C7 05 84 FD 01 10 20 03 00 00 C7 05 94 FD 01 10 58 02 00 00 8B 0D 8C B3 01 10 B8 00 04 00 00 3B CB 75 0F A3 84 FD 01 10 C7 05 94 FD 01 10 00 03
And the 1280x1024 resolution is not in that particular string. Now before I go ahead with this anyway which option would be better for widescreen? Should I use the horizontal fix and just use the files that come with it? I will be using the 1920x1080 fix. Or should I use the stretch? Another problem I see when I play on any resolution is that I have a white border that appears when I start playing the game. It first appears when you start the Port of Ardia (level 1) and keeps flicking off and on. When I downloaded the Hor+ fix it has that draw file for windows 8 uses to fix it but is there any fixes for windows 7?
Thank you for your time

1. Download this - http://dk.toastednet.org/3dsl/TUROK_2_v104_RIP/TUROK_2_RIP.rar and unpack archive
2. Download Hor+ fix - Files available from https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files (search there)
Copy files:
Turok2.exe
Video_D3D.dll
WINM2.dll
from folder -
TUROK2\1920x1080\
to folder -
\TUROK_2_RIP\
3. Download this - http://dk.toastednet.org/3dsl/TUROK_2_MUSIC_ONLY_CCD/Turok_2-Music_Only_CCD-3DSL.rar and unpack archive
4. Mount Turok_2-Music_Only_CCD-3DSL\Turok_2.ccd to virtual drive
5. Play game starting TUROK_2_RIP\Turok2.exe

You are using Windows 7 and have some white border?
Can you show this border on screenshot?

Re: Turok 2 widescreen choices and white border
Thanks for showing the clear differences between the two, I hope the EXE works with because the European uses turok2english.exe. The music also works fine as long as the disc is in my drive, I can make my own image at any time really
Ok this was taken on my older computer at the time so I dunno if itll show. If you cant see it let me know and ill get a better shot
EDIT: Here is a screenshot from the computer im playing it on. You need to fullscreen to see the white border. Its a 1920x1080 picture.

I think that border line is related to D3D render bug/feature.
Try Glide render:
1. Copy all files from this archive - Files available from https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files (search there) in the game folder.
2. Run dgVoodooSetup.exe and set 1920x1080 resolution at Glide tab.
3. Set Glide render in game launcher (Options - Video)

Re: Turok 2 widescreen choices and white border
It worked they've disappeared! The game does take a bit longer to load though when it builds the texture files n such. Maybe that rar should be included on the main page as well.
Also do i really need the turok2.exe included in the rar if im already using the one from the main page with the multiple set of resolutions? Should i edit anymore settings in voodoo?

Really need.
And also I forgot to fix one thing
Here's a new version - Files available from https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files (search there)
- When scrolling mouse, weapon icons are displayed now.

You can choose MSAA level and I do not think you need to configure anything else.

... Alright i guess. I noticed it also has directX additions there? are they just for show or?
And you should really consider putting your options on the front page then if other windows 7 users get this issue.

Does anyone have a working download location for the Hor+ patch?

Re: Turok 2 widescreen choices and white border
Windows 10 users don't use the ddraw file from the archive to fix fullscreen. Looks like a fixed dll for Windows 10 would be needed. Stuck in windowed mode. If you try using the fixed ddraw.dll files for Win8 or 8.1 you'll get this error box:

I have a workaround for this that makes the game run in a borderless maximized window, effectively fullscreen.
Download AutoHotkey: http://www.autohotkey.com/
- Open Notepad
- Paste this code within the text file:
The script removes the window border and title bar of any window, and moves the window so that it fills the screen
- File: Save as, change save as type: all files
- Name the file whatever, WinMax.ahk works for example. Has to end in .ahk extension.
- Right click the file where you saved it, run as administrator.
- Open Turok 2 launcher and start the game
- Press the buttons needed together by the autohotkey script: Ctrl+Alt+F
This can be toggled on and off by pressing the same key combo.

Try the mirror link mate. Worked for me.
Dunno if I needed all the crap I ended up downloading to make this work, but the Voodoo v2 hack seems to work really nicely.
As a bonus it has some nice anti-aliasing making the game look much nicer in 1080P
