Sims 2 on 22"

Hello all, i recently bought an 22" LCD and right before I replaced my 17 LCD, my sims2 was working fine, when I replaced it and tried loading up the game, it wouldnt load, the only way I do this is adding the -w option to the command line, but if I try to load the game at fullscreen it wont..help please, the res Im trying to get is at least 1440x900, my lcd native res is 1680x1050
