In other words, did you try that downsampling thing on your monitor?

I know it's not too practical on low DPI, 1080p display, because you will not see as clear as on native UHD monitor.
But it's good for testing, preview, screenshot taking, or maybe even playing games that don't support any AA whatsoever, even SSAA.

Funny thing is, you can force UHD custom resolution even if your LCD is connected through D-Sub (VGA) cable.
The image in not as clear as you would get it on native resolution through DVI/DP/HDMI. But it's more than enough for above mentioned purposes

It would definitelly be good for testing and taking screenshots from games in 4K/UHD and making Detailed Report for WSGF :) ;)

So, how can you force such high resolution on your display?
Here is a nice explanation:
http://screenarchery.wikia.com/wiki/Dow ... VIDIA_only

I have 23" 1920x1200 display, connected to graphics card through D-Sub - and i can run 3840x2400@54Hz.

Here are couple of screenshots (not photos) on windows 8.1 machine. Keep in mind, i did not change any DPI settings.

I did one quick test in the game.
this is cut-out from 3840x2160 (no AA)

this is cut-out from 1920x1080 (no AA) 200% nearest neighbor.

If you want, maybe i could take take some close-up photos, to show the quality of the image (when LCD is connected through D-Sub :| ).

Wait, but it doesn't allow to take screenshots in native resolution, does it?
I mean, you have 1920x1080 lcd, and you force the game to render at 3840x2160 with this tool, and If you will take a screenshot it will be 1920x1080. Am i right?

So you can take screenshots at rendered resolution, before downscaling?

I tried nvidia inspector with SSAA feature, but screenshots WITH FRAPS were downscaled.
Is that tool different from Inspector?

Can you say something more about this tool, before i wil try it?
Will it work on nvida?
Are screenshots taken with fraps, or msi afterburner etc, in rendered resolution?

i haven't tested it with nividia. Only with AMD cards.

Screenshots made via MSI afterburner are all in Full Resolution, as you can see by the Album link in the other Topic.
Crysis works kinda fine. Good game to test it out.

But the "installation" might be a bit tricky, as you need to disable driver signature enforcement before it starts.
Because this Tool works via driver .dll hook for DX10/11 signed drivers cost a fortune (or something like that... it's been a while.)
