Maybe Changing from AMD to Nvidia But Have Reservations
G'day Everyone I'm new here so if this question has been asked multiple times I'm sorry anyway my question is I'm thinking about changing from my AMD 7970oc with boost to a 780 Lightning and I'm running 3xAOC monitors @ 5760x1080, now with my 7970 I can very easily change from 5760x1080 to 3x1920x1080 with my saved profiles as I only game at 5760x1080 and everything else I do is on one monitor which is usually the center one for watching movies and forums etc now how easy is it to do this with Nvidia? Have they got a profile system yet? or am I better off not buying a 780 but wait a few more days for the release of the new 9970 from AMD? Thanks in advance for all replies Ex.

Well since I can get a reply to my question it seems Nvidia is NOT the way to go! Don't see the sense in spending $970au on a graphics card if it won't even do something simple, AMD are cheaper and leagues ahead in triple monitor usage.

Bro! The announcement of the new cards is just in a few hours, and supposedly the new R9-290X will outperform titan and cost less than GTX780 so wait a few more hours before you order anything atleast

I use the Windows+P shortcut to switch between spanned and extented display modes on W7. I don't know about AMD's method but this isn't hard at all.
Re: Maybe Changing from AMD to Nvidia But Have Reservations
The windows+p shortcut seems to work for both amd eyefinity and nvidia surround.

I do this too with my AMD card. But you could use catalyst profiles and assign them to a shortcut as well.
But idk what to believe anymore what would be best. Nvidia usually would "work" better, smoother frames, no skips or no mixed frames. Also PhysX, I'm really starting to miss that :/, and then there is the linux story. On the first hand I hear "get Nvidia when you want to run linux" but then you hear "noooo, the AMD drivers are better now, nvidia sucks, linus torvalds flipping the finger"...I don't know anymore what to think too :<. Ati seems to be generally good value for the money, so ye.
