Heretic II - Widescreen solution

1. Install Heretic II Using your CD.
2. Patch Heretic II to 1.06 version, this can be done easily, just unzip this file to Heretic II folder.
3. To allow Heretic II use widescreen resolutions unzip this file to Heretic II folder.
4. Start Heretic II, go to Video Settings / Renderer = OpenGL32, Video Resolution = [1920x1200; 1680x1050; 1440x900; 1280x720; 960x720; 800x600; 640x480; 512x384; 400x300; 320x240]

Hi,

yes it work but since there is no Res. 1920x1080 i have to use the Hexedit Version from BooTx -> works fine.

Ahh and change the fov through the config file located in the /Heretic 2/user/ directory. Just open config.cfg and locate the fov line, which should be at 75 by default. -> put it too 105.

BUT :shock:

it you have Win 7 x64 with a Geforce 9 Graphicard than it wont start at all :!:

Here is the Solution: You have to install the NVidia Driver 197.45 and NHancer 2.5.9 (Because Nhancer does not Support the newes NVidia Driver YET)
Then Run nHancer and create a new Heretc 2 profile while the game is not running. Go to Compatibility -> OpenGL, check "Conformant texture clamp" and set it to "Off", then check "Driver extesion limit" and type the value 11a8.

Thats it :D Now You can Play the Game in proper Widescreen under Win 7 64Bit! :D

3. Download & Install nGlide 0.95 from http://www.zeus-software.com/
4. Press "Start/Programs/nGlide/Configurator" Set your settings (here you can choice any screen resolution)
5. Start Heretic II and in Video Settings choice 3dfx.
6. Play Heretic II and enjoy at your favorite resolution! :rockout

I couldn't get good results with the existing wide-screen patches, so I created my own.
Tested and works with the retail version of Heretic II (Xplosiv) on Windows 7 64 bit.
Note: This patch fixes 'No CD' issue also.

Steps:

1 Updates

1.1 Install 1.06 patch

2 Widescreen Mode

2.1 Copy contents of heretic-II-1080p-720p folder directly into your game
directory

2.2 In order to play in '1920x1080' resolution select '1600x1200' in 'Video'
menu and '1280x960' for '1280x720'

3 Starting the game

3.1 Run the game in Windows XP SP3 compatibilty mode and as an Administrator
