Hi guys, I recently setup eyefinity using 3x u2711s. I have it working fine right now, but I have an issue, the same issue I had a few years back with a different setup. Whenever I want to get out of eyefinity mode, either by using Windows+P or usually by using presets in CCC, it breaks the monitor resolutions completely. Basically what happens is when they get "disabled" in order to switch modes, it reopens it as a Non-pnp monitor, making the resolution tiny and everything messed up. It's like it doesn't properly detect it. So basically I'm stuck in eyefinity, which honestly I wouldn't care about, the only thing is I want to watch videos in full screen on a single monitor, and when I try to full screen them, they just freeze. For some reason they go across all 3 monitors stretched and lock up on me till I exit full screen and refresh. Honestly I would just like to be able to switch between Extended and Eyefinity, I've seen it done.

So here is how I've always had to setup eyefinity with my problem (I've done it with 3 different video cards and 2 different monitor types):
1 - Start with monitors in extended and make preset for CCC
2 - Disable the other 2 monitors
3 - duplicate one monitor
4 - try to duplicate to the third and realize it detected it as a non-pnp monitor
5 - unplug and plug back in the third monitor
6 - repeat steps 3-5 for quite a few tries until it finally works, sometimes unplugging the second monitor as well when that one gets messed up
7 - when they all finally are properly duplicated, make eyefinity
8 - Done

By the end the original preset no longer works properly as you might imagine. This has been a painful process, so if anyone could shine some light on this situation, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

PS - I have tried to find a solution for this for many years now, so I don't really expect much. At least eyefinity works. :/

The CCC Presets have always been fussy. Fortunately, you can use Windows' Winkey+P keyboard shortcut to swtichbwtween single/ Exteneded/Eyefinity. Someone here brought this little tip up a while ago,and I've been using it ever since, never having ot use CCC Presets.

If my memory serves me correctly, Single give you only your Primary display, Multiple gives you Exteneded mode, and Duplicated gives you Eyefinity mode. Your Bezel Correction will be used.

Although I haven't tried it in a long time, there are also program liek Powerstrip or Ultramon that can set and recall monitor arrangements. Honestly, I cannot recall of they will support Eyefintiy mdoes correctly.

Thanks for the reply! I've been trying to use the Windows + P shortcut, but when I switch to extended mode, the mini display port monitors register as non PnP and have their resolution set to 640x480, or whatever is the lowest, with no way of changing it back except to redetect, which doesn't work, or unplugging them and plugging them back in, which causes more problems unfortunately. That is the big issue right now. It happens when the monitors get disconnected and reconnected, such as when it switches from Duplicate to Extended and reversed, since it needs to first disable the monitors to do so.
