sorry to revive such an old thread but i'm having issues getting my 4800x900 setup to work. it worked just fine under Win 7 64 with a Nvidia Geforce 560Ti and TH2G digital. got dual link DVI from pc to matrox box and single link from matrox box to monitors.
now that i moved to win 8 64 which is no different from win 7 in terms of display etc i assume something is going on. nvidia driver is 9.18.13.697 which is the 10/2/12 release and control panel is 4.8.750.0. firmware on TH2G is up to date and using newest powerdesk.
I just don't get that it worked fine before and now i can't select the 4800x900 option. when i go into mode management the checkboxes i can select goes to the highest of 1360x768 and the other ones especially the 1600x900 for triscreen is automatically checked but greyed out and i can't choose it for some reason.
anyone have any ideas?

I had the same problem after installing W8. The Matrox tech worked on my machine remotely for some time. He tried setting custom resolutions with the NVidia control panel, and it looked like he knew what he was doing. I have a GTX470. He concluded it was a windows 8 problem and said to give them so time to come up with a fix.

Note - make sure you update your matrox to firmware 2.3.40 and video table 6.56.
1. Install nvidia driver.
2. Install PowerDesk and run the wizard for 1680x1050x1 @ 60Hz
3. Create a custom resolution in nvidia driver with the same numbers you see in the pic:
4. PLAY AROUND WITH THE VERTICAL REFRESH RATE till you found the number that works for you. ex. 59.454 ,59.400 etc...
5.
- Go to your Powerdesk SE install folder.
- Edit DeviceInfo.ini with notepad, find and replace all
"Name=CUST_MODE" to "Name=CUST_MODE_1" and
"Name=CustomDisplay" to "Name=CustomDisplay_1"
- Reboot
6. Send me your love - and have a blast playing @ [email protected] :rockout
