1024x768 on 3 displays

Post by packerman »

Hi all I am looking to run a program that will run at 1024x768 across 3 displays. This program can only run in 1 display though and cannot be stretched across multiple monitors with their own resolution. The program needs to believe that it is running in the one display. From what I can understand eyefinity can possibly do this. I am just trying to find out if this is possible and what video card do I need to accomplish this?

I understand that I could use a projector but this could be put in casinos and the lighting wouldn't work.

Every new AMD GPU can do Eyefinity, if you can plug 3 Monitors. Be aware that most AMD GPU's cant use 2x DVI +HDMI so you need to use 2x DVI + DP or 1x HDMI+DVI+DP.
With NVidia you need the newest generation 600er cards, a simple GT640 will support Surround.

SoftTH doesn't work on Desktop right? Only with DX9 Programs... IIRC.

Thats about the Hardware! Now about Software... you're trying to run 3 Monitors with 1024x768 Pixel in a Span of 3072x768 Pixel ? Then that will be no problem at all, but if you try to get it running in 1024x768 in a span over 3 Monitors you'd have to tweak around with Monitor settings and resolutions.
We gonna send it to outa space!
