Resident Evil Revelations

Post by helifax »

Fascinating how no one actually opened a thread regarding this game...

The game by default does not allow you to select any triple resolution what so over.
Forcing it from the INI file will make the game launch but CRASH before the main menu...
However I was able to make a quick fix for it.
The game is the most GAMEBOY PORT to date... Everything inside the engine points at this. I won't go into detail but the engine is very weird inside in it's behavior. (Actually I've never seen an engine behave like this)
Is not necessarily bad since is very simplistic to fix some things. However there are also problems with this simplistic approach.

Anyway.. Screenies:)

PS:
I don't own the game this was done on a "private" release just to see how the game looks/behaves.
If anyone is interested in the game let me know:)

Helifax

Looks decent enough. How well does it run? I was gonna preorder it but ended up not since I already played through it on the 3DS. I was afraid it would be horribly optimized. At triple wide it seems to look fine, I'll probably wait for a sale.

Thanks for the fix!

I've learned two things from this thread.

1.) I will purchasing Revelations sooner rather than later

2.) I need to buy games for Helifax

:)))))))))))))))))

Well the 1st one is completely valid;)) The second one is only partial:))))))) Unfortunately atm I am very very very limited with funds (since I am studying...again:)) and therefore no job atm) and thus I cannot buy all the games that I would like to buy:( Sometimes I get a "torrented" version just to see how the thing looks like and if it needs fixing and to what extend:))
Usually, I post here what I find:)
Vulcan as do we all, contribute to the community as best as each of us can and he is highly appreciated for all his contributions;)) but there are also member here who can tell you that I have created fixes on "the spot" on their version of the game (for example for Mass Effect 1 and 2 -retail versions and other games) by connecting directly to their machine.
I wanted to say this so everyone know it;))

Still working on the fix, keep you updated:)

Helifax

Well here it is:)

Use this plugin with WideScreen Fixer

How to make it work:

1. Go to <em>C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Local\CAPCOM\RESIDENT EVIL REVELATIONS</em>.
2. Open the <ins>config.ini</ins> file.
3. In the ini file find the "Resolution=" field and write the desired single monitor resolution to be used in Surround/Eyefinity (for example for 5040x1050 select 1680x1050).
4. Make the ini file READ ONLY
5. Start WSF and THE GAME.
6.DO NOT ENABLE THE FIX (The game will crash)
7. Get to the main screen (After the intro screen with the big eye).
8.ALT+TAB and enable the FIX (If you don't ALT+TAB the game will crash)
9.ALT+TAB tp the game and you will see the Surround/Eyefinity Resolution. (It is more visible after you get ingame since the menu is centered and displayed on the center monitor)
10.Enjoy the game!!!!!!

Screenie With all in ONE:
Image

If you follow these steps everything will work:)

Best Regards,
Helifax

Edit
Use the last attached plugin.

EDIT

It seems a new patched was pushed to the game "without" us knowing;))

EDIT 2

Updated the plugin to work with the 1.1.0 patch they added last night. Use the attached plug-in.

Sorry Ben, I think I overlooked your post. At the moment the fix only works for the Retail (Steam) version. Adding support for the demo is trivial. Let me know if you are interested in this;))
