Need help with monitor stand.

Hey Guys,

I'm Australian - So I must be able to pick up a stand locally.

Now, at the moment, there are three stands I have my eye on - The Aavara, Selby Acoustics one & Proluma.

I'm looking for a triple-monitor mount, that doesn't sag and will fit three 24" screens, on a slight angle (20 is fine)

what do u guys suggest? cheers

Unfortunately I do not have any experience with the stands listed, however a stand that has received many great reviews and feedback from customers is our own triple monitor stand.

well i need a stand thats in australia and is around the $200 mark.

The Aavara, Proluma & Selby ones are. All the same design. So i was wondering if there is a fix if they were to sag?

The WSGF stand would be the best, but we get smashed on shipping at $225, which I just cannot justify.

I think the selby, Aavara and proluma stands are all made by the same manufacturer. So just go with the cheapest.

My experience so far:

They do fit 24" screens, and yes on a slight angle. This however is not ideal, you want your screens to be in a parabolic set up in relation to your head, therefore it does not matter which screen you look at, it is always perpendicular to your sight. This stops any colour distortion.

You can overcome this by grinding off 2 little lugs inside the arms themselves which act as a stop point for the arm movement. This does not give you the correct angle though as the arms are still too short.

I did alter mine even further by extending the arms, but underestimated the weight of the monitors and did not use thick enough steel for the additions, hence I get sagging. At the moment I have a big enough desk that I am using reams of A4 paper as the Aavara mount is essentially broken until I get around to fixing it.

The build quality is good, and from standard the monitor hinges are strong and mine never sagged. Would be a good stand if the arms were longer.

I'm Australian too.

I have 3 x Innovative (USA manufacturer) EVO 5645-08-CM "Long reach" (year 2005 model) stands from a local (Sydney) seller, Uplighting Solutions.

Alas, it seems no longer to be available. I show you to illustrate a few things about a setup with three independent arms:

• They can be adjusted instantly to any angle. This is handy if you want different angles for gaming V working. However, in practice I set only one angle and leave it there. Nevertheless I'm happy not to be constrained by limited angles a cross beam setup might entail.
• There is no pole taking up space on my desk. It's great to have all that under-the-monitor room to play with, for example for putting my feet up.
• If your desk is deep (like my Ikea gallant) you'll want a model that has some kind of extended arms (as mine does).
• The disadvantage is that lining up the monitors precisely is tricky compared to a cross beam stand. I explored that issue in a separate post An open letter to manufacturers to create the ideal monitor stand for a triple monitor setup.

In any case I highly recommend the local (Sydney) reseller, Uplifting Solutions. They have outstanding customer service (they where happy for me to come in and spend some time setting up a monitor arm for me; they rapidly replaced a broken plastic part). For a range of options see Uplifting Solutions, desktop mounts (assuming you prefer a desktop mount). Note the "EVO mark II" doesn't offer an arm extension as the EVO Mark I did (the model I have), but it might be worth considering if you have a shallow desk.
