Hello everyone,
I will be purchasing a SLI enabled gaming laptop (an Alienware or Asus/MSI if they offer an SLI option for summer/early fall 2013). After lurking on some of the WSGF forums I wondered if anyone is currently using this approach.
The 2012 Alienware M18x with 7970m Crossfire or Nvidia 680m SLI are both at 11k in 3DMark 2011, and should have the frame rate to drive modern games with 3 daisy chained displayport monitors if no AA/Aniso is used with a medium or high graphics setting for most games I can think of (Skyrim, Modern Warfare series, Deadspace 3, Bioshock Infinite, etc.).
While I think my approach is sound, I was just wondering if anyone here knows of someone, or a blog who is surround gaming with a high end laptop and what their experiences are.
For the Morbidly Curious: ========================= My job entails frequent travel, so I want to be able to have a high end portable gaming rig, and when I am home I can game on a 3 monitor surround configuration.
Kind Regards, Koinonos Richland, WA
