Eyefinity plus extended.
Eyefinity plus extended.
Ok, need some ideas/advice on this one. I am currently running 3x1 Eyefinity with DVI, DVI, and HDMI on a Sapphire Flex 6850. I am trying to add a 4th monitor as a extended monitor. After a lot of fiddling, I have been able to get CCC and Windows to detect the 4th monitor, but for some reason this monitor does not see a signal coming to it, whether it's been disable/enabled, set to be in the Eyefinity group or not, ect. Essentially, CCC/Windows is saying it's sending a signal to that monitor, but the monitor is blank and goes to sleep mode.
Several things to note:
1. That 4th monitor is on a mini-display port, but the monitor does not have DP.
2. My current configuration is mini-DP>mini-DP to DP adapter>DP to VGA adapter.
3. The DP to VGA adapter should not be faulty, considering I have used it in the past.
So ultimately, what could be the problem? Could it be a configuration issue I'm missing? Is it because I'm going from one adapter to the next? Is it because going from mini DP requires an active DVI adapter, even though going from DP to VGA is not a problem?

Does your monitor have more
Does your monitor have more than one type of video port? If so you might have to switch it to the right channel.
If not are you sure the mini d to dp adapter can handle an analog signal from the vga?

I think you're referring to an input/source issue? That is not it. If I switch the configuration with the adapters on a different monitor, then that monitor does the same thing. So it's either a adapter issue, configuration issue (as in, something I'm not understanding about Eyefinity + Extended) or a combination of both.

This I do not know. I thought DP could handle both analog and digital. If it is not the case, then what would be the solution? A DP to DVI adapter? And since I will be using it by itself (as opposed to a Eyefinity resolution) do I need an active adapter or can I use a passive?
Unplug Any of the 3 other
Unplug Any of the 3 other monitors and Check if it works then.
Unplug all 3 others and Recheck.
If No. Adapter problem
If yes GPU connection Problem.
I Know flex cards can handle 3 monitors. But 4?

Ok, will try that. The flex 6950 supports 5 outputs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJGxlG1iq7I
Update:I have been able to
Update:
I have been able to get the 4th screen working with a new DP to DVI adapter. Unfortunately, I can't get 4 screens working at once. When trying to enable the extended screen, I get an error message from CCC saying:
Operation Not Supported
This operation is not supported based on current display configuration. For more details, please see Help.
Anyone have any ideas?

Make sure your DP adapter is
Make sure your DP adapter is an active one. If it's passive it won't work. I had the same issue when I added my forth screen. I had to update to active DP to single DV adapters.
I have an eyefinity +1 setup.
I have an eyefinity +1 setup. My eyefinity part is all plugged into display ports etc. My +1 is plugged into the DVI via an adapter. It works fine in a desktop mode but when I try to play a game direct x freaks out and wont work. Suprising as eyefinity itself does work.

mhmm sparx you use 12.9
mhmm sparx you use 12.9 drivers ?
I've had 3+1 running before in Eyefinity. gaming and had the 4th for monitoring temps. But when i switched to 12.9 drivers i couldn't maximize a DirectX window! Didn't test with new 12.11 yet.
I know that it was running before... not sure what driver i had... 12.4 oder 12.6 beta.
Edit: Okay it does work again with 12.11 drivers! BUT really important! Physically disconnect the extended Monitor when creating an Eyefinity Setupt! If you don't your Eyefinity Setup will be recognises as Monitor NR2. (even when exta screen is deactivated...) So using Eyefinity Only works fine! But Eyefinity +1 and having Eyefinity Setup as nr2 Screen it will start up your Games in the Resolution of monitor nr 1..... had Crysis 2 running in 1280x1024 -.- over 3 screens! And somehow couldn't change resolution anymore -.-

Re: Eyefinity plus extended.
In quite a few cases..
Extra monitors need the ACTIVE Adapter.
In the case above, flex with all on mDP works for 3, but one of the DP is usurping something, a time signal perhaps, from the DVI port.
So, you will need an ACTIVE adapter for one of the DP ports, dunno which one tho. Then yer DVI will work.
Make sence?

Re: Eyefinity plus extended.
Hello guys, i have this probelem, and i think this thread is my solution
I have this card: http://www.sapphiretech.com/presenta...n=&lid=1&leg=0
and i have these 3 monitors: http://www.lg.com/hk_en/monitors/lg-24EA53VQ
and this 40" 3D TV mounted above the 3 24" http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/t...UE40EH6030KXXU
what i want to do is this, i want the 3 monitors in eyefinity mode for gaming, and the tv just for movies.
Because the TV is 3D I HAVE TO USE THE HDMI port of the card to connect the TV because it's the only port which can deliver 3D signal
the rest of the monitors are in this order (first is the card outputs and secend the monitors inputs):
left monitor display port->DVI (just a cable not an active or passive adapter, just a cable from DP to DVI)
center monitor DVI->HDMI
right monitor DVI->HDMI
when i am in this connection, the TV is not working and the right monitor has lower resolution than the other 2.
now, IF i connect the right monitor with the TV's HDMI cable then everything is fine except, the TV is not connected anymore...
What i want to achieve is the first connectivity,
TV: HDMI-HDMI
and the rest of the monitors in eyfinity mode.
what am i doing wrong??
