The other thing that I noticed (sorry, no screenshot), is that if you get bumped offline, the "Connection Lost" message is wither enlarged or positioned partially off screen (might be both :P).

I'm seeing the same stuff you guys are with surround.... the game works for the most part but some menu items are super zoomed. bummer.

It's kinda funny when the games that actually advertise that they will have surround capability and when they are released, they are either nowhere near it or only a few bits work. Then you have games that don't boast any support and work straight out of the box. It's kinda disappointing.

Ugh, why is the "Hud H. Bounds" option limited to only 85, I need it to be lower. Does anyone know of an option in an .ini file to force it to be lower?
I'm using 4:3 screens and the hud gets cut off, also the menu is not 3 x 4:3 monitors friendly. The game assumes i have 3x widescreen monitors and the parts of the menu are on the left and right screen.

FPS
I was wondering if anyone else was having some FPS issues here.

Texture quality medium, AF off, FXAA off , and Ambient Occalsion, off I'm getting a jerky 40fps. If I turn crossfire off it's 20fps
at 1980x1060 everything is maxed out smooth silky 60fps.

I know that AMD recently released drivers with XFire support for Borderlands 2. Aside from that, is there any correlation between the fps drop and your GPU usage?

Max Usage during BL2 are GPU1:74%, GPU2:87%. Should there be such a difference between the 2? Both cards are the same clocks peed and at stock clocks.

TBH that sounds like a normal variance for AMD crossfire, as far as I know. I did a quick search and found this BL2 performance guide:
2# Borderlands 2 ATI FPS Fix
If you are experience performance issues on your ATI video card, download Orochi-CEG and you will definitely see a boost in performance.
There are a few more things listed there that you can try as well. I know that Phsyx can be run on the cpu and it was an issue with Alice Madness Returns and AMD users suffering performance issues. Make sure that Phsyx is disabled via

If you find that it keeps being enabled even though the launcher says it's off, you will want to set the file to read only.

I checked the configuration ini files and I couldn't find a direct reference to that option in any of them sadly. What I would recommend is that you complain here: http://forums.gearboxsoftware.com/showthread.php?t=147295
I would also recommend you changing that value in the game and look at the configuration ini files to see if any of the values change that are identified as HUD, it will be a time consuming task but it's all I can think of. Here is the location of those files: My GamesBorderlands 2WillowGameConfig

So if you do believe it's incorrect, then it's incorrect even for single monitor users, in reality it's more of a user preference thing - in borderlands 1 it is vert-
The only problem I see is one of the same problems that arises in Borderlands 1 after it's been fixed (funnily enough) - and that is the shadows shimmering and disappearing (it's caused by high horizontal fov)
Hi HaYDeN,
Do you happen to have any plans to do a similar no-FOV change tweak for BL2? Sadly a lot of us are getting motion sickness again from the constantly changing FOV when sprinting/fast-traveling/turbo boosting just like BL1. Even with the FOV slider up at 110 or so. I really wish Gearbox would include a "Disable FOV Changes" option. I loved your BL1 tweak...until the game was patched and broke it. Anyway, sorry to pester you. For now I am forced to play in 1280x1024 on a single monitor, which for some reason doesn't make me sick. And now I will continue lurking.

Thanks i'll try that, might have to find an editor that compares files to see what's changed. I've just started playing online, changing resolutions to be able to do things like join etc, and just noticed that the chat worse than what was in the 1st Borderlands, it's practically all chopped off, i can just make some of it out on the bottom left, such a shame lol.
edit: I just checked the files using HxDen and it's file comparison mode, I made a copy of all those ini files beforehand and after I changed the one setting. All the files remained identical so the setting isn't in there. Perhaps it's something inside some other file or windows registry.

Here is another Forum
Here is another Forum discussing Vertical/Model FOV if anyone is interested. I really hope to see an update on Flawless Widescreen to support Vertical FOV
Here is an example of the tool being used in the first one

Don't want to turn this into
Don't want to turn this into a "beg HaYDeN to fix my game thread", but it would be amazing if you could implement the fixes for BL1 into Flawless Widescreen for BL2. The weapon repositioning and sprinting FOV fixes were pure gold. I would create a plug in for it myself, but I have no idea where to even start. I lack the skills you possess, good sir.
Chat Menu not on 5760x1080 screen
Hey everyone,
I have noticed only one problem with my widescreen settings.
I am running on 5760x1080 and the menu for the chat log does not show up. I have seen that this has been posted once or twice here but i can confirm that this is an issue. Are their any plans to fix this?

Really? I generally avoid FXAA at all costs because it blurs the image too much. I'm using SMAA for BL2 and I've had much better results than FXAA. They both eliminate jaggies, but SMAA doesn't leave you with that vaseline-smeared screen side effect. My performance was the exact same with both. This is my first time using SMAA for a game, so it may vary for other games.
On the first day Borderlands
On the first day Borderlands 2 came out, I have been seeking ways to edit and improve the game graphically. The game ran butter smooth with all the graphics maxed out @ 4320x2560 so I wanted more.
One of the problems people notice is the frequent texture loading as you progress through the game. After some research I have found a way to disable or fix this effect.
Non-existing texture memory Fix

I recommend you read pages 1-3, after that it becomes somewhat of a ATI vs NVIDIA flame war. Here they address the NumStreamedMips value
Something else I found is that even though Borderlands 2 uses FXAA, which does a passable job. I found out that you can disable FXAA and use another type of rendering from an open source project called SMAA, which has the same impact as FXAA but looks better. Here are some comparison shots.

Even with what you said Dopefish, I have to agree with Louie. At least for Borderlands 2, I am obtaining better results with SMAA over FXAA.
At the very least, the first ini mod I mentioned does help with texture memory load times :)
Black Border scope
Hi to all borderlanders
I Love to Play the game @ 6060x1200 and it works fine,
and i even love the extra options for widescreen playing great!!!
But what i hate is when playing in NV surround at 3 screens
and use the riflescope i get a huge ugly black border in the
middle of my left and right monitor and no nice round scope!!
just missing together 1 screen in eyecandy when scopping :-(
Is there a solution/Fix for it or do i have to wait for a updat from guys from Gearbox ?

Nothing that can be done
Nothing that can be done about that really, that's how scoping works, it's mean to block out everything OTHER then the bit in the middle, its just the blacking out doesn't extend fair enough. I have never seen a game with scopes do anything other then this.

Framerate Drop on Game Begin, Zone Transition
Hey all-
I've got one major issue with Borderlands 2 in 5760x1080 Eyefinity. At best, my framerate is hitting a smooth 55-65 FPS (AA off, AF 2x, everything else max). However, when I first start the game, I get an ugly 25-30 FPS.
EDIT: To clarify, by "start the game" I mean when I enter the game from the BL2 main menu, not starting the game from desktop.
I found that I can correct this by switching my window mode in options from Fullscreen to Fullscreen Windowed and then back to Fullscreen. On the first change, the framerate remains the same 25-30, but when I switch back to Fullscreen, I get a nice FPS around 60. The framerate drops again every time I do a zone transition, and I go through the same method to bring it back up. I also saw this happen a few times when I went into Fight For Your Life in the Tundra Express (the zone where Tina lives), but the drop there doesn't occur 100% of the time.
EDIT: I've discovered that Alt-Tabbing out and back into the game has the same effect to raise the framerate, and it is a much quicker process. For now, this is an acceptable fix, although I am still curious to know why the framerate keeps dipping in the first place.
If I exit Eyefinity and go to 1920x1080, I have no framerate issues. I have the latest AMD Drivers, 12.8. I haven't seen anything on the internet that mentions this problem, but if anyone here at WSGF has this problem or has seen something similar in other games, I greatly appreciate your input.
