Morning Guys,

I know you have all heard this a million times, but i am getting all types of different information.

I have a HD6870 and 3X 23"

My 6870 Has the following sockets
- HDMI
- 2X DVI
- 2X Mini Display Port

3X 23" BenQ G2320HDB -

I am looking to create a 3X1 Landscape Eyefinity
So far i have tried the following:
Connect 2 Monitors via DVI
Connect remaining monitor using HDMI to DVI converter

Connecting 2 Monitors via Minidisplay port (Apple Mini Display to DVI)
Connected remaining monitor with HDMI / DVI


My Question, do i still need an active display port adapter thats been certified by AMD ? I hear these are around £100 ?

You will need active display ports to get eyefinity working, I'm assuming the 6870 has the same limitations as the 6970, in which case you can only use two of the DVI and HDMI connections at a time, so you will need at least one active display port adaptor, that said you can pick up cheap ones for £20, like this one: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/xfx-active-mini-dp-to-single-link-dvi-dongle-retail-boxed

Typically the normal configuration is two DP to DVI, one DVI, then you can use the HDMI or second DVI to a 4th monitor or TV.
