Microsoft Train Simulator?

Is it possible, either by patch or hack, to run Microsoft Train Simulator at a wide screen resolution, such as 1280x800?

With MSTS 2 officially canceled, it looks like we're basically SOL. However, Auran's Trainz can do it and it is still actively supported and developed.

I just want to confirm that you said Trainz will support widescreen? Also, is it a good game?
