How to run 3x1 Eyefinity + 1?

Post by gamereric22 »

Hi, everyone. First post :), and i would like to know how to run a 3x1 Eyefinity with 1 monitor on top (Included a picture so you can see what i mean). I have dual Radion 6970's running on crossfire, so i have my 3x1 eyefinity monitors running off the primary video card (2 on DVI, 1 on mini display port). This means that I still have 1 display port and a mini display port open on my main card and all ports open on my second card. I have tried plugging the 4th monitor via dvi to my 2ed card and have had no luck.

So my main questions are:
Is this even possible to run the 4th monitor with the video card setup i have currently?
If so, will the 4th monitor on top be available when i run games on my eyefinity screens?
How will i be able to run the 4th display?
Computer Specs.

You will need to use the 2nd

You will need to use the 2nd miniDP to get the 4th monitor working. You have to use an active adapter, just like the one you're using for you're third monitor.
The other thing you could do, is plug it into the second card and take it out of crossfire. But then you'll lose crossfire, so balls.

...or you could buy some

Post by Blevar »

...or you could buy some cheap grapic card dedicated for this monitor - you wont get any gaming preformance - but pretty much any gpu can run videos in high def - and u can get used gpus for 5$ on ebay - which is cheaper than next dp-dvi adapter
