Multi-Monitors ATI 7950 (not surround)

Post by Greatwalk »

I'm looking to setup something like this:

1. Primary Display (DVI)
2. HDtv (Primary Duplicate) (HDMI)
3. Extra Monitor (Extended) (mini-DP->HDMI)
4. Extra Monitor (Extended) (mini-DP->HDMI)

Is it even possible? I can't find any info with eyefinity all over it. I was hoping passive adapters would be okay when not using surround and HDMI connecting to an actually TV like it wants to anyways. hah I see lots saying it just NEEDS active adapters for anything over 2 displays...

Yup you need an active adapter for any DP -> DVI/HDMI. It doesnt need to have an external power source (like DP+USB->HDMI/DVI) but it still needs to be an active adapter.
Some Passive DP to D-Sub might work... but thats not what you are looking for obviousely - and they still give some problems when used so I wouldnt recomend them.
