Alright, as I said in the game give-away thread, I created a GUI patcher program that can patch multiple games from within one EXE. All patch information the EXE needs is held in a separate PATCHES.INI file. Therefore, whenever I'm able to crack a new game, I can update the PATCHES.INI, and that will be the only file you'd need to download.

Since this is the initial release, everyone will have to download the following files:

http://www.prismaticorder.com/uniws.exe
http://www.prismaticorder.com/patches.ini

Place them both in the same folder. It doesn't matter which folder this is.

Double-click the UNIWS.EXE file to run the patcher. Using the program is fairly obvious: just pick the game you'd like to patch, find the folder where you installed that game (or click the find it button for help), READ THE DETAILS BOX, fill in the new resolution you'd like to use, then click Patch!

Please post your experience with this program. I'd like to know if it's working for people, and if it has any bugs.

No, because there is no listing for IL2 in the patches.ini file. This working is dependent on someone having figured out which offsets need to be changed.

Hi, I've updated NFSU2 using the latest updater on ea.com and then replaced the stock speed2.exe with a fixed version. I then followed the instructions to change the res to 848x480. The game loads up fine in 1024x768 but when it switches to 848x480 the game crashes.

I reinstalled the original patch and tried it from scratch but I get the same problem. Please help!

had the same problem - delete the "undo" file, re-copy the cracked .exe, re-patch, reboot, and all should be well again.

Thanks for the help. I did what you said but actually still got the same problem, thing is though it worked fine on my LCD monitor (VGA output to LCD vs DVI to projector). I ended up uninstalling the game, reinstalling it with the projector set as my main monitor, stuck with v1.0 and its cracked exe, and for some crazy reason or another it works fine now. :?:

When someone has found the relevant hex offsets, sure. :D

Not a lot of use until we know what to change, and how, though. ;)

I remember I got the game to run @1280x768. So it might even work @1280x800. Make sure you create/have a custom res for your desktop/os at say @1280x768. And that res should be available to select at the config option. You can that run at 1280x768 pixel perfect mode or upscale to your monitor res. You can also change the in game camera mode to wide to see more of the field. Good luck.

Not sure if it's ok to request here Wogg, but have you tried or are you interested in trying to Patch Tiger Woods '05? I love the game and I'm sure the fans of the hacked '04 version here would really appreciate a 16:9 hack for the '05 version.

Here is the link to the DXWRAP.dll from the '05 version that someone kindly hosted...

http://mikegetz.com/dxwrap.rar

Also the idea of Rallisport Challenge making it to 16:9 would be sooooooo sweet, not sure if anyone has had a go at that one yet, but on a large creen that game is a lot of fun.

Thanks for all your work

Unfortunately, Wogg left the forum a while back (though he may still lurk from time to time). He started up his own business, and that took up a lot of time. He did say that he might be available to hack a game or two, if there was enough interest.

Mird-OC actually provided the hack for TW '04. I just got the "World of EA Sports '04" pack, and Rugby '04, to see if the hack work on other games. No other game has that same .dll file. Rugby and Madden both had widescreen modes out of the box, but Madden was stretched. Look at the screenshots to see what you think.

Some of you may not know what this means, but our man Wogg is who created the Universal Widescreen Patcher. It's the tool that lets you play SW: KOTOR in widescreen (amongst other games).

He had to take a break from he forum, due to a new job. I've been emailing with him recently, and while he doesn't have time to hang around the forums, he said he does have time to try and hack some more games.

I sent him SW: KOTOR2, as well as Tiger Woods 2005, Madden 2005 and the 2004 EA Sports pack. He is also pulling the demos of RCT3 and Evil Genius.
