LOTR Return of the King and Prince of Persia Widescreen??

I just got these two games but can't find the widescreen settings or hacks. Does anyone know? thx

How do you select resolutions? And does the game directory have any .ini or .cfg files in it? Those usually give a hint as to how, even if it's just to point you in the direction of a registry hunt.

Just been through the files in prince of persia.

The file hardware.ini will recognize different screen rez's, including widescreen, but these additional res options don't show up in the game for selection, and changing these values doesn't appear to affect it.

Well, actually, if you remove all of the vid modes except for your widescreen mode from hardware.ini, the game will give an error upon starting, saying that it couldn't "find a valid display mode".

looks like an exe hack necessary here.

LotR just crashes out on my latptop. :evil:

It works OK on my desktop, but that's... not widescreen... :roll:

I will be really interested in LOTR:ROTK in widescreen since 2 players can play on the same screen! This would work better in widscreen mode. I am surprised that they did not add this as an option because of this multiplay game feature.

second, (or third?) the motion for LOTR:ROTK. i'm a huge fan of the game, and i get my x1000 this sunday (meeting family in texas...i live in Guadalajara, MÃƒÂ©xico). anyway, first thing i'm doing is loading ROTK, curious to know if anyone can widescreen it.

Not sure it's gonna help, but I've emailed EA Tech support. Maybe I'll get lucky and they will send me a patch or at least on how to edit. Of course I'm not holding my breath either.

Well EA was no help, but the weird thing is, I've now received my X800pro and automatically the LOTR:ROTK is now in widescreen. It is stretched, but looks good. Obviously something in ATI's settings allowed for this to happen.
