2x XFX HD7970 DP BE Crossfire. running 3x Dell U2311H 1x Nativ DVI, 1x Nativ mini DP-> DP 1x HDMI to DVI (by included adapter)

Ok, the driver has helped, now I only have tearing on my side screens so I don't notice it as much. I just hope they fix this problem, it has to be driver related... If not I don't get why it has gotten better with the new driver (I previously had 8.921.2)...

I knew it. Still tearing :/ That's exactly why I'm getting an Asus HD7970. If you love portrait mode and want to get rid of the tearing, I suggest you do the same. But I'll let you know how the card is the minute I get it!

Your not alone, my Sapphire 7970 is doing it too and im using the same connector setup, but considering there is limited driver support out there right now im sure it will be resolved (hopefully) in the next release.

Normally I just get tearing in games with Vsync off but im getting it in videos the works atm.. Soon see.

I notice you using drivers provided by Sapphire, why is this instead of using drivers direct form AMD?
What is the difference exactly?

At first I was using the official AMD drivers the ".2" but then I tried the drivers that were on the Sapphire website that are newer, the ".5". With the official AMD drivers I had tearing all over the place and with the newer ones, the ones that are on Sapphire's website I only have tearing in my side screens (and only one line in each one).

I am using the 12.3 rc (8.95...) drivers (can by found on guru3d). And all my tearing has gone. Maybe you guys can try those and tell us if the helped. If so then future drivers might solve this problem. Btw using the native dvi + hdmi to dvi + dp to mini dp setup as well. Have a 7950, but that shouldn't matter.

Can you look the exact driver number under CCC info tab? Or give me a link to the driver to be sure...

I can do both: http://www.mediafire.com/?dji4ozqk22q7sr9 and 8.95-120131a-132694E-ATI. Be aware that is an early beta, but am using it right now and it seems fine.

Ok, I just tried the guru3d beta driver and it has made the tearing go away in 2 of my screens. What is funny is that the only screen that is tearing now is the native DVI to DVI one... I may get another miniDP to DP cable and problem solved I hope...

Like said, Sapphires has the 8.921.5 for Download and couldn't find that somewhere on Page from AMD. (Realy! AMD has WORST driver homepage i've ever seen!)
I don't assume Sapphire modified this drivers themself! 1. Its not very likely to put to much effort into it. 2. i don't think they have the knowledge to do. 3. they'd still have to get WHQL certification.

Yeah! I also heard that 8.950 drivers eliminate Screen Tearing! Cuz i never ever had any tearing i can't say for sure.

@ Osurfer3 Try to change Connection from Display 1 to display 2. Switch display 3 instead of 1 as "Primary" deactivate 2 screens and reactivate! Try out stuff like that and check if Tearing always appear on the same Screen(Connection) !

If you set on of the monitors that has dvi connection as your primary monitor, the one connected via dp will have minor tearing. If you set you dp connected monitor as primary the other two will have some minor tearing.

Anyone tried these? 8.932.2_12.1

~~The funny thing is that right now I only have tearing in one of the DVI only. No tearing on HDMI to DVI -> DVI and no tearing in miniDP -> DP. Only tearing in DVI -> DVI.~~

I don't know what happened yesterday, but I get tearing again in my two side screens when I turned my computer on today with the exact same config...

By accident, I changed my windows theme, and the tearing was gone! I use XFX 7970 Black edition. Try windows 7 basic. If I switch back to windows 7 standard theme, the tearing comes back. I'm only using Windows 7 basic theme from now on^^ I use 1 DVI->DVI, 1 HDMI->DVI and 1 miniDP->DVI

Does this also works for games? I mean, tearing isn't that bad on desktop, but I believe that in fullscreen games your Windows theme automatically switches to basic. So this shouldn't work for games, but please, do try it.

Well, tearing now only happens on my left monitor(miniDP->DVI).. Guess I celebrated too soon. 1 tearing monitor is better than 3 at least.
