Somehow installing 12.3 rc fixed my problem, while reinstalling 11.12 didn’t. I heard some rumors that 12.3 rc wasn’t the best driver for 79xx, so initially I stayed clear of them. Testing them now anyway, I guess.
Anyway, walked right into a new problem. Afterburner has a max overclock of 1200mhz on the core (which is kind of enough). The current beta doesn’t let you enable unofficial overclocking (
it will reset all values to 0 and won’t let you change them). Trixx has a maximum of 1300mhz, but it is giving me problems as well. It tells me to disable ULPS and when I do, the program doesn’t let me overclock a single mhz and gives me the same
error. Restarting Windows doesn’t work, restarting Trixx doesn’t work and manually disabling ULPS doesn’t work. It not just the max overclock of 1300 instead 1200. This error won’t let me use Trixx at all. Any ideas are welcome.
EDIT: What do you know. The last thing I tried (using restore point) worked. Every time I have a problem like this I always end up using one and it almost always saves me. Maybe I am not capable of learning... ;)
