Hi forum,
I've just joined to ask this question, but like most forums, it looks like I'll be learning a lot more (which is a good thing, right?)!
I've also seen a few similar questions with answers but I really just want the right answer to my particular conundrum... So I apologize in advance if the answer is exactly the same as some I've seen.
I have a Gigabyte HD 6850 card running two DVI 1280 x 1024 (x2) resolutions right now. I just got a new widescreen LG FLATRON E2241 which does the usual 1920xwhatever resolution. I found out yesterday, much to my dismay, that I can't just hook it up via the HDMI port with the two DVIs hooked up--the HDMI uses one of the DVI ports or something like that. There is a Display port slot as well on the card. What kind of adaptor do I need? I could care less about whether or not it is hooked up via HDMI. I just want the 3x1 option in EYEFINITY. The 22" new monitor can go DVI, VGA, or HDMI.
What's the cheapest, yet still functional(!) way to get this going? Here's a link to the card I have from the gigabyte website
CARD. Here's the New Egg listing as it's probably better:
New Egg.
Monitors: Dell 19" (DVI/VGA) 1280x1020
Novatek Planar 19" (DVI/VGA) 1280x1020
LG Flatron 22" Widescreen (DVI/VGA/HDMI) 1920xsomething
Card: Gigabyte HD 6850: 1x SL-DVI, 1x DL-DVI, 1x HDMI, 1x DP
Thanks for the help, it is much appreciated!
