16:10 3x1 med setting, AA off. ONLY need for periphial vision but need min 30+ FPS in BF3

Post by pgawannabe »

Here is my question. I am only interested in the extra periphial vision gained in FPS (AKA BF3) while mainitaing minimum 30+FPS. I am not looking for running on high or ultra settings.

it does not even have to 5760x1080 along as it maintains the 16:10 aspect ratio with 3x1 monitors in landscape mode.
AMD 1055T 3.8 ghz

Asrocks 880g Extremem3 mobo

OS win 7 Ulitimate 64 bit

GPU :Sp 4830 (looking to replace for 1 GPU eyefinity) for medium settings

PSU 600 Erenmax Whisper

You are aware that you've not actually asked a question? :P Now we can make a number of guesses as to what you wanted to ask but it'll help us if you save us the guess work :)

I guess he was asking for GPU

I guess he was asking for GPU suggestions.
Looking at your setup... the cheapest soultion would be HD5770 - Its a bit faster than your present card but already got dx11 and eyefinity.
However I'd strongly suggest not buying anything lower than HD58xx series due to 256bit rail.
And if money is not an issue... go for HD69xx

And always get as much VRAM as possible - Eyefinity likes it alot :)

I use a shader-unlocked 6950

Post by Abram »

I use a shader-unlocked 6950 2gb and run BF3 at 5292x1050 (bezel-compensated 3x 1680x1050) and I get anywhere from 35-80fps. Most settings at Medium. Since I'm running in a lower-than-native resolution, the medium texture setting looks the same as Ultra. I'm pretty happy with how it looks and runs. Oh, also using a 2600k CPU clocked to 4.8ghz and 8gb RAM.

So I'd suggest at least 6950 or 2x 6870/50's. Apparently the Crossfire scaling in BF3 is quite good.

I would advise a 6870 / 5850

I would advise a 6870 / 5850 as the absolute minimum. If you go lower, you will seriously sacrifice image quality, particularly going forward. As Abram said, I would highly recommend getting the most powerful 69xx card you can afford, with 2GB Ram.

My 5770 gets about 20 fps in medium in single player with 3 22 inches monitors. That's definitely not enough for you.

I realize this thread is quite old and probably long forgotten so sorry if this is too "hijack-y"
Abraham, what do you mean by the above? Im very new at EF but it seems you are running at your screens native res. I ask because I'm running battlefield 3 on 3 monitors at similar settings
