5x1 portrait glitches to 640x480 on all screens.

4 connected via dp to dp on card

1 dvi to dvi on card.

Is this an issue? Should I go dvi to dp on card with adapter cable.

So far this is one issue I have experienced. Tried to fire up bf3 and one or two monitors went out and when I got the screen back it was mirror mode with 640x480 resolution. Plus, it was pain to get eyefinity back. I have set up 5x1 catalyst macro, however, once it goes into 640x 480 mode a reboot is required.

Macro helps with random monitor black outs based on unknown variables currently, but the 480p is confused me currently. Cable was one thought I had...thoughts.

Thank you.

Do you have a 2nd DVI on

Do you have a 2nd DVI on card? I currently use [dvi][dp][dp][dp][dvi]. Your config should work fine though, I'd think..

Most likely it's one of the DP connections spazzing out.

Unplug all the DP monitors from the card then replug them.

Could possibly be one or more of the DP cables. I have the same monitors hooked up to one of my 6990s and had an issue with a couple of mini DP to DP cables and adapters early on. Could eventually get it working but as you say once eyefinity went down it was a bit painful to get it back up into 5x1. Also before I tried a different cable one of the monitors would blank out for a few seconds randomly. Tried different cables and it has been all good since.
