The file to be changed is found in OperationFlashpointUsers - if this does not exist, then you should create a profile first in the game.
The value to be used for fovLeft should be the aspect ratio of your monitor divided by 1.3. For instance, 1.6 / 1.3 = 1.230769.
Using 1.333333 gives an aspect of 1.3 * 1.333333 = 1.7333329, which will be too high for some monitors.

As I have completed report I have some comments.
Other game title is Operation Flahspoint: Resistance (expansion set name).
Widescreen method for this game can be considered: .ini + mod.
Here's a video showing OFP widescreen.
Readme for OFP Aspect Ratio package you'll find here .
There are no pre-rendered FMV.
I'm not able to test multi-monitor but I saw on YT video that it's possible.
Not every interface element can be modified. Things like chat or action menu are always centered.
_
As for issues, those below are both SP and MP so I'm not sure where to add them.
Map screen is scrolled always like on 4:3
Optics are stretched.
_
Specific MP behaviour:
If you're using any modified files and connect to the server then a message will appear informing that you have modified files.

Hi, I have the GAME of the Year Edition and that supports multi monitor with the following hack in the user.config:
and change UserInfo.cfg for correct FOV (in game folder)
fovTop=1.000000;
fovLeft=3.898664;
It was originally:
fovTop=0.750000
fovLeft=1.000000
I run this Game at 3072x768 and it works fine.. So NOT sure if it is considered the OP Game but it is basically the same..
It also works in 3D with a 480GTX and nvidia 3D Vision kit..
