Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 working with Matrox Triplehead2Go DVI

Post by scottyadam »

I have 2 games by Command and Conquer. Red Alert 3 and Renagade. The only 2 games I have every bought :). Anyhow the other day I just bought the matrox Triplehead2Go DVI and 3 monitors (Viewsonic VX2450) which I have to say are so sick!

Any way to get my games working on my 3 monitors? I have it working on one monitor right now.

Thanks for the help

Check the Games list in the top nav bar on this site for information on those games. IIRC, neither have great support for multi-monitor resolutions, so they may not provide a good surround experience.

yeah I don't think either game supports displaying on 3 screens. all the explanation is about is for zooming in and out not extending to 3 monitors. Renagade would be awesome on 3 screens. Hey I don't know too much about gaming, anything that is very similar to C&C Renagade that I might like to buy? That would be supported for 3 screen gaming...anyone?

There is a way to get surround resolutions for RA3, though it's easy to miss on the game page:
Native Hor+, not native for 5:4 other than 1280x1024 and 1280x768. TH and DH too.
To activate these resolutions, you have to modify C:Documents and Settings[user name]Aplication dataRed Alert 3Profiles[profile name]Options

Manually editing the Options.ini file works, but if you change any video setting from within the game it will reset your resolution.

Regarding games like Renegade, are you more interested in single or multiplayer FPS action? I believe Battlefield Bad Company 2 has good surround support.
