Extended Desktop Settings vs. Eyefinity Group

Post by Sepix »

hello,

i browsed a bit but couldn`t really find anything helpful, hope you guys can help me out.

so, i normally use 2 monitors with extended desktop settings under windows.
this enables me to maximize applications on every monitor for themselves.
i can browse full screen on the left, while i watch a movie fullscreen on the right.

when i enable my eyefinity group both monitors are used as one huge desktop,
wich is of course great for gaming. i can play any game on one huge monitor.

however, both settings don`t really work together very well. i have to enable/disable the different modes before and after gaming.

is there any sollution for making both work more easily ? maybe tell my eyefinity group to maximize over both monitors only while gaming ? limiting the feature to only one application ? or an extended setting somewhere i didn`t look ?

thx a lot in advance :)

win7 32
radeon 5770
2 x 19" monitors
i play eve online mostly

Go to AMD/ATI's driver

Go to AMD/ATI's driver website. Find the right driver downloads page for your OS. The package you want (if you don't already have it), is called HydraGrid. You can set it up however you want...by default once enabled it should detect your bezel breaks just fine, and most applications are smart enough to listen to HydraGrid telling it where to maximize to.

Some things like Adobe Flash and Microsoft Silverlight are still dumb, and insist on maximizing to the entire Eyefinity group. Don't think anything can be done about that.
