Should I still use my TH2G?

Post by Matthew »

hello all,
my desktop power supply just fried and took my main board with it. my new rig is going to be using two Gefore GTS 450's in SLI mode. will there be any benefit to continued use of the TH2G? or would i be better off with Nvidia's surround gaming solution? any pro's or cons to each solution?
thanks all

Well, NVIDIA Surround has better bezel compensation support, is significantly easier to setup (in my experience) and is capable of doing DX10 and DX11 at resolutions of 5040x1050 and above, which the TH2Go cannot due to restrictions of the refresh rate in dx10/11. I personally can't think of any advantages of continued use of a TH2Go over Nvidia Surround, though there may be some that I'm not remembering.

The only one I can think of not having to use SLI in games that don't support SLI well at all (negative performance).

It's my understanding that using NVIDIA's surround capability means you can't run another monitor as well. I have three monitors in surround using TH2G, plus a fourth that's separate (off a single 570, another point where TH2G wins.) I've read that NVIDIA won't let you do 3+1.
