Homefront Widescreen Tool

Post by stone »

I made a tool to switch resolutions and adjust game settings.
Since I use three screens in both portrait and landscape positions,
it is more convenient to change resolution and parameters with a launcher.
Just place the tool in the same folder where Homefront.exe file is.

Could somebody confirm that the program works for Steam version as well? If not, it would need an update.

I cannot tell you exactly which settings will work for you but... Quick solution would be to set simple resolution e.g. 1920x1200, run the game and change settings to what you want. If you have three screens, you will see the same picture on all of them. After that close the game, use launcher again and set your wide resolution. The settings are inaccessible in wide resolutions for some reason (check boxes are disabled).

Two more hints:
- if wide resolution did not work, restart the game; users report that this helps.
- if you experience incorrect aspect ratio, change it to 0 (zero).

Version 1.0.1.103 is available. Ratio correction button added.
Download with the same link provided below.

In wide resolution settings are disabled (3600x1920)

In regular resolution the settings are enabled.
I use portrait mode (1200x1920). Notice that aspect ratio is wrong and resolution missing.
Nevertheless, settings are available now.

Got IT!

I Erased The Game And The Tool, Re-Dowloaded Everything and now it works like a charm must have been a glitch or something. The only problem i have now is when i aim down sights the gun and all the immeadiate frame becomes blurry. Other than that awesome tool looks like it was my fault all along. Sorry Jack!

Version 1.0.1.113 is available. Now you can force the game to run with specific DirectX.

No magic here. This is just parameter:
HOMEFRONT.exe -d3d9
HOMEFRONT.exe -d3d10
HOMEFRONT.exe -d3d11

Running Homefront with lower DirectX may help with missing textures in multiplayer.

hey guys I only just came

Post by sparx1981 »

hey guys I only just came across this tool. Well done. It all loads up and the menus look fine for me. I'm gaming at 6392 x 1152. Only thing is though the FOV seems off in game. the cross hair is in the correct place in the centre screen but my gun is mainly on the third screen off to the right.

Basically it looks like modern warfare 3... before I apply the widescreen fix.

Is everyone else having the same result?

For reference, my aspect ratio on the tool is set to 0. Before I set this to 0 my menus were tiny, and the game still looked like this.

Sometimes the weapon will

Post by scavvenjahh »

Sometimes the weapon will stretch for no apparent reason, the tool is not to blame. Try this:
http://widescreengamingforum.com/dr/homefront

If you get a stretched weapon, first apply a single-screen resolution from the options, exit the game, then edit the .ini file again.

Found where my problem was.. My aspect ratio was wrong ...
Previously I had it set at 0
This meant my menus looked correct but not the game.
Changing this to 5.33333 fixed the menus and the game... this was as per the detailed game review on here.

I've since corrected this further to be 5.5486111 to suit my resolution.

Thanks guys, finally I can play this :-)

I have problems with the stretched gun issue as well. The above sollution didn't help. Anyone any ideas what else I could try?
