With them being DP 1.2, 1 hub per port = 4 x 4 + 1... That's a lot of display options for a single card. I'm curious to see if 3x3 landscape ever makes it in. But heck, I'm still really happy over 5x1 Portrait finally making a showing. I don't want to get too far ahead of myself. :)

A DP 1.2 EyeFinity 6 would be crazy display count.

Trouble is, this, while having excellent potential, is still a step back in its out of the box design since it'll 'only' do five as compared to the six of an Eyefinity 6 card. To get more than five requires hubs which are not going to be cheap.

So anyone who want six from the start is looking at additional costs whereas if they had come out with six DP outputs then they could have easily provided the DVI option via a simple/cheap adaptor. The 'adaptor' to get up to six outputs is not going to be cheap.

Did they give the dimensions of that card anywhere?

I think it is about as long as a 4870 X2

Am I the only one who thinks we'll only be able to use one HUB per card? I can see this if it's not merely something like the TH2go (or that DP HUB that accell made).

The diagrams show up to 3 1920x1200 per DP1.2 port on the two dp port models.

Think AMD need to get DP hubs out there otherwise their top card has lesser functionality than the 6 screens they've used to demonstrate Eyefinity in the past.

Actually, some diagrams show 1.2 Hubs pushing four 1920x1200/1080p displays. I think AMD merely used three in their example to match up with the current EyeFnity options they have implemented. Those that do not require EyeFinity will have a heck of a lot more display options soon.

4x4 + 1 will be theoretically possible from physical card construction I think but AMD WOULD NOT make driver which Can operate more than 6 screens, I remember when I bought first 5770, first drivers cant support even 3 monitors (of course I have 2x DVI + 1x DP @ VGA adapter) later 6-e card has only 10.6 drivers which Can support 6 screens (10.5 not work correctly on 10 diffrent setup, whatever, intel or amd)

Of course I hope this will be not true, and they will make some drivers and new cards with hub and future cards can operate more and more screens.

my dream for now is 5770 eyefinity-5 card in price of normal 5770 :D, (even can be 5750, effinency dosent matter) , just outputs 8)

They seemed pretty accommodating to me when I inquired about 5x1P -- to the point of giving me access to driver builds that enabled 5x1P before it was released. It really goes to supply and demand though. As is, I think up to 6 displays is a good solid goal that they've fulfilled for the most part. Where you go from there is dictated by the amount of screens a single card can drive. That goes up significantly with DP1.2. 5x1P was made possible by request and gauging if people would even use it. I think WSGF members had a bit of a hand in making 5x1P possible because people were actually consistently requesting it over the last year. If a quantifiable amount of people will actually use it, I don't think AMD would discount some future expansion on configurations based on port counts. Video walls specifically come to mind when I think of over 6 displays. A 3x3L setup would make for a good video wall implementation. There is a whole market for 3x3 video walls that Eyefinity could harness. As long as AMD sees a target audience and money to be made, there is justification for things like 3x3 in the future.
