Well I'm in the UK so often prices in the US seem really cheap. ;)

The 2711 is a good monitor from what I've heard about it. If I had the cash, I'd run Surround on three of them. But I don't, so I don't. ;)

Haha damn the pound for being worth so much more money!

Here's my dilemma right now:

Here's my options:

Dell refurb u3011 ($950ish with tax on dell outlet).
Dell 3007WFP-HC ($750 from member of [h]).
Dell u2711 ($600 craigslist unopened box refurb).

Which do you see as the best value for gaming and price?

Currently use a 2407WFP - which one of these will be biggest upgrade for me visually?

(tripple box u2711 does sound amazing, lol)

750 is way too much for a 3007wfp-HC (Trust me I have 3 of them).

The u2711 is a great price, and the u3011 would probably the great increase in visual quality (that warrants it's price).

Thanks for the tip.

I just had a horrible experience with Dell Customer Support. I am so frustrated I think I am going to go with the HP.

Since suiken has put two cents in, and he's a bit more knowledgeable on the 30" front than me (and the US prices thing...) I'll bow out now. ;)

That's an excellent monitor I hear. Vege of [h] has 3 of them.

Only drawbacks (just like any 30" without a scaler) is that there's only 2 resolution that devices can out put to it, 1280x800 and 2560x1600, meaning consoles / dvd / bluray players are pretty much out. The other thing is that there are only 2 inputs on this monitor.

Great tip, thanks.

Yeah, I'm only going to be using it for PC gaming... so should be fine.
