6970 @ Eyefinity
Can't wait for WSGF to review the 6970!
I see from other benchies it scales a lot better at 2560x1600 resolution while gaming.
Unfortunately (or fortunately?) there is a serious lack of Eyefinity reviews on day 1 of release. Basically this is how I'm going to judge wether (or when) to upgrade from a 5870.
Thanks in advance!

I think good choice. Right now I have a 6870, and I can play virtually everything on high settings @ 5760x1080. So the 6970 should be even better, if not great! :D
Right now I am waiting for the 7000 series in the second quarted of 2011. It should have a smaller gpu chip, so cooler and more performance (again :hide ).

Re: 6970 @ Eyefinity
Seeing what the CF scales like and how the 6970 does at higher res, if I can get confirmation that CF and EF works without the *&*%*#!! stutteryness I am sold on a pair. Selling my 5970 to get a 5870 cos of the CF+EF=stutter was not good.

Re: 6970 @ Eyefinity
Sweet, any CF stutteryness?
None.
Re: 6970 @ Eyefinity
nothing compared to the complex review ibrin just did, but i figured i'd add my own little data. i posted this over on EVGA forum as well.
Well... my 6970 came today. i got it unboxed and moved my 5870 over to another machine. Both machines are setup for eyefinity. The 6970 uses 1920x1200 x 3 while the other machine has 1920x1080x3 (slightly less pixels).
The one quick test i was able to do was Alien Vs Predator in eyefinity mode.
6970 machine 32fps, 28fps (with 2AA on)
5870 machine 26fps, 17fps (with 2AA on)
So, it looks like the 6970's extra memory can help out when enabling AA in eyefinity mode.
Looking forward to more tests soon but need to get my room put back together.
By the way, the card is massive. I was really not expecting that.
PS: i used the powercolor mini-dp to dvi and it is working without issue.

None.
Just to confirm before a spend a mass of cash, did you ever notice the stutteryness when using 58xx with CF & EF?
Thanks

No. FWIW, Amazon may not have the absolute best prices on cards (I dunno, they might), but they have an exceptional return policy. Check them out if you want to try the new cards with the ability to return. That $10 or so per card might be a life saver.
