Sold my 5970 for a very good price. He gave me 2x260's to use till I see what the 6990 brings to the table. Then will decide between that or 580 in sli.
I have 3 different makes/models of monitors but they are same size and res. One of them is a dell with native display port.
I have spent the last 7 hours trying to get surround working with the 260's. Have read that the nvidia solution is much more stringent on monitor usage.
I have 3x1680x1050 monitors but can only get 3840x1040 to work. BM works fine but cannot get 5040x1050 to work. Sli works with one screen fine and 3 screen extended works fine with all 3 at 1680x1050.
I have one of the monitors that has the opposite polarity but I did set up a custom res and setup and still no go.
I have had more problems with nvidia surround in the last 10 hrs then I did in the last 11 months with my eyefinity setup.
I really do not want to send more money on matching monitors as I had two monitors and got the dell dp monitor for eyefinity.
Glad I tried this as I am pretty sure I will wait for the 6990 and not get 580's in sli.
Sorry for the rant but this should not be this hard!

Re: problems with sli surround
Got it all working: Ordered 2 new dell monitors to match my other. Works perfect now with matching monitors.
