Active Mini DP -> DVI

Hello everyone,

Within a month or so I'll be trying to set up my own eyefinity setup, this ofcourse leaves me with a question or two.

Now, I've managed to get a hold of 3 monitors, using 2 of them at the moment but sadly none of these have got a displayport, only VGA / DVI / HDMI.

As I'm waiting for the new radeon cards, which rumors say they should arrive somewhere mid to end november, from various leaks and information it's been said that the 6970 cards will have 2x DVI / 1 HDMI / 2x Mini DP.
The problem for me is that I cannot seem to find any Active Mini Displayport -> DVI adapters where I live so my question is, by using a regular Mini DP -> DP adapter, will I be able to plug in a Active Displayport -> SL-DVI into that first adapter and still be able to run eyefinity x3?

This all makes sense in my head as in the active adapter being the last 'step' of the chain however I feel like I'd need confirmation on this before I start ordering the expensive stuff.

Hope this makes any sense, if not feel free to say so and I'll try to elaborate.

Electricaly, the cable is the same. So it should work.
