I loving melb! Orig from NSW but Melb is great
I have a HDMI to HDMI
a display port adapter to DVI
HDMI to DVI
but every time i use the HDMI cables the screen is reduced in sizeby about 1" around the outside.

I think you can set the scaling options for that screen in catalyst control center
