Video card replacement

Post by John26 »

Hey guys, lifes been busy and I have been out of the technology loop for quite some time. My 8800 GTS 640MB video card is dying. I'm getting lines and such on my screen and drivers keep uninstalling for some reason(still happened after a fresh OS install). I have come to the conclusion that it has to be my video card that is dying. I still use my PC a lot for gaming for stuff like WoW and Aion. The 8800 GTS did not play these games well on full settings so I am looking for a video card that is a decent improvement over the 8800 GTS and quite stronger and somewhere in the $75-175 range. Any help is appreciated. My pc is about 3 years old so I'll link my motherboard/CPU I use.

Memory: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231065

Thanks , I'll take any advice your willing to give :) I know I need a new rig but wanna hold out for at least 6 more months.

Thanks, I'll look right into this. Since my system is somewhat old, will I be able to handle this video card just fine? If so I will definitely jump on this GTX 460.

Also, if I were to purchase this, there are so many different 460 GTX. Is this a good one to buy?

No I do not play on Gamezaion.

Just installed this video card, very noticeable improvement. Now all I need to do is start upgrading the rest of my set up starting with a monitor as my next mission :)
