well i managed to get it running in landscape mode across 3 screens but couldnt up the res.. it was very blurry.

the aspect ratio seemed perfectly fine though. viewing area much wider.

all i did was run the game in portrate mode... then switch my monitor setup back to landscape mode, rebooted the game and it was working in landscape mode... albiet a very low ress, but its progress :)

i look fwd to getting this fix!

Custom res launcher if anyone wants to give it a whirl, again, designed and tested on x64 platform (windows 7) so I am guessing milage will vary.

Instructions - Launch SC2 without the app running and pick a resolution the tool will detect and modify the resolution, eg launch SC2 and set it to full screen and the res to 1024x768, exit SC2, run the application, make sure the "When the resolution is set to" feilds are set to 1024x768 and set "Rewrite with" to the resolution you would like it to set it to, relauch SC2 and it should launch with the settings you chose, it only works properly if fullscreen is set, you may need to alt-tab once or twice to get it to set it properly.

In terms of FOV etc - I have found the offsets but it looks like the raw camera offsets and they vary immensly from scene to scene so its extremely difficult to rewrite it, cause you need to read it and modify it by a specific amount but rewriting it stops you from reading the value intended... so im not quite sure how to tackle this issue.

I've played quite a few multiplayer games at 5760x1080 with no problems, but use at your own risk - im not responsible for accounts being banned and what have you.

Let me know if it works or not and what OS 32/64bit

Worked for me once I downloaded .NET framework 4.

The 3D menu system where you are in the bars and stuff to pick what to do are vert- so it's hard to navigate anywhere.

The game became unplayable for me at that resolution, getting 15fps on two 480s =/ Doesn't make a lot of sense since this game looks nowhere near as good as others I've played..

ok looks like it was just 1 level (so far) that was causing me the extreme lag, have to drop shaders to low and they jump back to 60.. Tried 3 others levels and some skirmish maps and they all ran at 60fps.

I'm running Windows 7 64bit.

Great work, HaYDeN. Thanks for sharing this with the community. It's plainly obvious that Blizzard had no designs at all for SC2 to be played on multi-mon systems.

I hadn't noticed until now, but it appears that SC2 still uses the old 100% opaque fog-of-war. Rather disappointing. I think the FOW implementation in Generals/Sage Engine games is much better.

Hmm, wasn't going to bother playing SC2 as I burned out on RTS's years ago, but in triplewide may be worth a look...nice work Hayden!

Well I found that it was the levels with water causing my drops to 15fps from 60. I turned off Reflections and I'm back at a good 60.. Visually it's certianly not worth it lol

Code: Select all

Dim ResolutionPointerOffsets() As IntPtr = {&H8C}

Dim ResolutionPointer As IntPtr = &HECB4B0

For anyone that cares, first four bytes (int) = horizontal res, next four bytes (int) = vertical res.

Thanks a ton for this. It's almost impossible to play a game if its not in eyefinity anymore. I have become so Jaded :)

Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but how hard would it be to adjust the UI to be more centered :?:

Not that I will ever play SC2, nor do I have Eyefinity, but well done Hayden. Another win for immersive gaming!

Hmm SC2 in triple? Interesting but I am worried about account ban also I see it being really hard to play if you use the mouse scroll. If you use keyboard scroll it should not hurt you any though.
